Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

Overview

A program that generally prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, install, service and maintain the operating condition of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Includes instruction in diagnostic techniques, the use of testing equipment and the principles of mechanics, electricity, and electronics as they relate to the repair of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Fort Scott Community College offers both a Certificate and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technology. This program prepares students for careers in residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems through hands-on training and classroom instruction. Students in the program will complete NCCER Level 1 and Level 2 certifications, providing them with industry-recognized credentials that demonstrate technical competence and workplace readiness.
