TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program that provides academic support to 150 eligible students enrolled at Fort Scott Community College. FSCC’s TRIO Student Support Services can help you to complete difficult courses with tutoring and supplemental instruction. In addition, SSS can help with your transition to a four year college. If you need assistance with finding financial aid or need additional counseling, then FSCC’s Student Support Services is here for you!
SSS provides the following services to all members, free of charge: mentoring, academic advising, personal coaching, transfer and scholarship assistance, campus visits, cultural events, tutoring services, and workshops. Along with our services is an opportunity to meet great people, have the support for school, and have the experience of a lifetime. What does it mean to be a “First Generation College Student”?
A “First Generation College Student” is a student whose parents have not completed a bachelor’s degree
What does it mean to be “Limited Income”
Limited income is based off of the U.S. Department of Education Guidelines. Generally, if a student qualifies for Pell Grant, they usually meet the limited income status.
When can I apply for TRIO Student Support Services?
Applications are accepted all year round. The applications are located in the TRIO Offices or you can download the online application
Where are the TRIO offices located?
The TRIO offices are located in the Student Success Center in the southeast corner of Bailey Hall.
What are the costs involved with this program?
TRiO SSS is a federally funded program in which the participants are not charged for any and all activities.
