Fort Scott Community College Presents Leadership Academy

Fort Scott, Kan.—Fort Scott Community College will offer a Leadership Academy day camp for area students ages 14 – 18 on Tuesday, August 9. The camp will take place from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Danny & Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center, located at 2108 South Horton Street in Fort Scott, Kan.

During the camp, students will have the opportunity to participate in leadership activities, attend college-style courses, and receive a tour of the Gordon Parks Museum. The students may choose two courses from the following: crime scene investigation, intruder preparedness training, Kansas history, and American politics. FSCC instructors and members of the community will teach the courses.

“FSCC is excited to offer this new day camp to local high school students,” said Heather Cutshall, FSCC Director of Public Relations. “These activities provide a great way for students to explore their interests and learn more about college.”

The cost of the day camp will be $5; the fee includes refreshments. Parents may register their students the day of the camp, or they can download a preregistration form at fortscott.edu/leadershipacademy. For more information, please contact Heather Cutshall at 620-223-2700, ext. 5248.
