FSCC Theatre to perform “A Christmas Radio Hour.”

January 8, 2015

Fort Scott, Kansas – Fort Scott Community College’s Theatre Department will perform “A Christmas Radio Hour” on Friday, December 19 at 8 p.m. in the Ellis Family Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $5 per person.

The show is set on Christmas Eve in a tiny radio station. A troupe of actors are set to broadcast a contemporary version of “A Christmas Carol” but over-the-top theatrics, missed cues and swinging holiday classics make for much more than a reinterpretation of Dickens. The show promises vintage radio advertisements and live sound effects in a classic radio drama gone wrong.

FSCC Theatre Director, Sarah Mae Lamar; FSCC Band Director, Michael Dzbenski; and Amy Eisley put together the script and musical score for this special one-night-only performance.

Lamar said, “We worked with the bones of Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol;” added other Holiday favorites; and scored the already nostalgic story with classic carols.
