Housing FAQ
How does mail work?
Students will receive their mail from their assigned mailboxes that are in the housing facilities. For those living off-campus, mail is delivered by housing staff to each student’s room. Packages are delivered to the bookstore, where they can be picked up Monday through Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM.
Do I have access to Wi-Fi?
Yes, WIFI is available at all housing locations and throughout campus, allowing you to stay connected wherever you are! Your WIFI password for your dorm will be located in your Welcome Packet! This packet is given to you when you check in on Move-In Day.
Is FSCC able to make accommodations for my medical needs?
FSCC is committed to accommodating students with medical needs. If you have any questions or concerns regarding accommodation, please contact Ashley Keylon for assistance at ashleyk@fortscott.edu.
Do you offer gender inclusive housing?
At FSCC, our housing assignments are primarily organized by gender. However, we recognize the importance of inclusivity and offer a gender-inclusive housing option for students who prefer an environment not confined by traditional gender definitions. This option is designed to create a welcoming space that respects and supports all gender identities, allowing students to live alongside others regardless of gender.
To be considered for gender-inclusive housing, students must indicate their preference on their housing application. For further details or to discuss your housing options, please reach out to the housing office.
How do I do my laundry?
Each dorm has washers and dryers available for student use. There is a $75 laundry fee per semester, which covers unlimited access to these facilities. Please remember to bring your own laundry supplies, such as detergent and fabric softener. Happy washing!
What safety measures do you have in place?
Your safety is our top priority. Both Boileau Hall and Greyhound Hall are equipped with card-activated locks at their main entrances, ensuring that access is restricted solely to individuals with FSCC Identification cards. Additionally, Greyhound Lodge and Garrison Apartments feature pin code access locks for their common areas, which are exclusively available to students and FSCC employees. Our campus is comprehensively protected and monitored through a combination of surveillance cameras, housing staff, and security personnel. We take great pride in maintaining a safe environment for all.
Can I afford to live in student housing?
We provide a detailed list of costs for student housing, meal plans, and associated fees on our Housing Cost Page. If you have any further questions regarding affordability or financial options, please contact the Business Office. For those in need of financial assistance, we recommend contacting the Financial Aid Office for guidance and support.
What furniture is provided?
Each dorm room is furnished with two twin lofted beds and a three-drawer dresser.
In Garrison Apartments, you’ll find additional amenities, including basic kitchen appliances like a refrigerator, stovetop oven, and microwave, as well as coffee tables and seating.

How do I cancel my housing contract?
To cancel your contract please contact Alyssa Martin or the Housing Office. The cancellation policy and charges are explained on the Housing Cost Page.
Can I move in at the beginning of spring semester?
Yes, there are move in dates available at the beginning of the Spring semester as well. Please fill out our housing application to receive more information!
Can I move out at the end of the fall semester?
FSCC Housing Contracts are for the full academic year. Please refer to the cancellation policy or contact the housing office for further questions!
How do I add, change, or delete my meal plan?
To add, change, or delete a meal plan, students should contact the housing office. Keep in mind that meal plans are only alterable if you live in one of our off-campus dorms.
Is summer housing available?
Summer housing is available for students participating in approved programs that allow them to remain on campus during the summer. If you’re interested in this option, please check with your program coordinator for more details.
Can I change my roommate request or housing preference?
Before Move-In
Students may change or cancel their roommate or housing requests up until June 24th. We’re happy to accommodate these changes if there is availability. Please reach out to the Housing Office to handle your requests.
After Move-In
We have a room change freeze for the first month of school! After that you can begin the process of switching rooms if needed. We do encourage students to try and work things out with their roommates before switching.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed in any of FSCC’s housing options.
Students may bring animals that are registered as service animals or emotional support animals (ESAs), but they must be approved and have the proper documentation. For any questions or to seek approval for your animal, please contact Ashley Keylon at ashleyk@fortscott.edu.
