FSCC Hosts 43rd Annual Aggie Days
Fort Scott, Kan – The Fort Scott Community College Agriculture Department will host the 43rd annual Aggie Days contest on Friday, March 29th. Approximately 1,400 students representing more than 100 schools will compete in 12 different contest throughout the day.
“We are looking forward to hosting the event.” said Sara Sutton, FSCC Agriculture Instructor. “This year we are giving Aggie Days a face lift with a new local sponsor and updated awards. It is one of the largest contests of its type in the four state area so we are expecting a large turnout of high school agricultural students and 4-H club members.”
Students will have the chance to compete in 12 different areas of agriculture which include; agronomy, entomology, farm management, floriculture, food science, livestock judging, meat evaluation, milk quality, nursery/landscape, poultry, speech and veterinary science.
Sponsored by ReproLogix of Fort Scott, Kansas, this event is the longest running interscholastic competition in the region. “We are excited to have ReproLogix as our sponsor and look forward to exposing agriculture students to the embryology side of their industry. Many students do not know of the opportunities beyond high school and college. ReproLogix provides up to date technology and services on animal reproduction, an area many of our students are interested in. It has been a great partnership and together we hope to inspire students that participate in the contest to look at animal reproduction as a possible career choice.”
