FSCC Volleyball 6th in the Nation

Fort Scott, KS—The Fort Scott Community College Volleyball team took off on a first-time ever trip to the NJCAA National Volleyball Tournament in Charleston, WV, on Monday, November 18th. Today, they have returned with being 6th in the Nation, Coach Hill was awarded the well-deserved Coach of the Year for the Plains B District, and the Hounds were given two other outstanding awards.

 

Sophomore Abbie Casper was named the National Tournament All-Tournament Team member,

 

“Abbie had an amazing weekend of play.  She has a heart of a lion and leaves everything on the court!  There was no one deserving of the award more, so proud of her”, says Head Coach, Lindsay Hill.

 

The team didn’t stop there. They were also awarded the Sportsmanship Award for the entire tournament. Showing outstanding sportsmanship is something the Lady Hounds are known for,

 

“Being awarded the Sportsmanship Award was hands down the most proud I have been as a coach.  This team’s character and how they have represented FSCC, this program and this community all season long was recognized on the highest stage possible.  This group is special, I am so proud!”, says Hill.

 

The Hounds had an amazing season and Hill would agree,

 

“This season has been so rewarding in so many ways.  I am so proud of these young ladies.  They competed so hard at Nationals against the best in the country and they represented so well”, says Hill.
