The nationally renowned Big Show Dueling Pianos serve up the entertainment for the Fort Scott Community College Foundation’s annual Black and White Gala on July 16 at the Liberty Theatre downtown.
The lively and uplifting dueling piano act – voted “Entertainers of the Year,” by Chicago’s WGN; inducted into Dick Clark’s Walk of Fame; and recipients of the “Best Variety Entertainment” award by the Village Voice – is an ideal choice for the return of the gala after a two-year absence because of the COVID pandemic, said Tom Havron, Foundation director.
“We are excited to get this going and provide this event for the community,” Havron said. “The gala has always been one of my favorite events of the year.”
Reservations can be made by calling Cindy Proctor at (620) 223-2700 or the Foundation office at (620) 223-2700, ext. 5815, through Monday (July 11).
Tickets are $50 per person or $190 for a table of four. Cocktail attire is suggested.
“Our past directors did such a wonderful job organizing this to make sure everyone had a great time,” Havron said. “(And) we have some wonderful sponsors in the area who graciously support us and raise money to support our students.”
In addition to the main attraction, guests are treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres and can participate in live and silent auctions to help raise funds for FSCC students.
The evening begins with cocktails (cash bar) at 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Theatre, 113 S. Main St.
