The Fort Scott Community College Rodeo Team is a proud member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). As part of the Central Plains Region, FSCC student-athletes compete among the top collegiate rodeo programs in the nation, carrying forward a tradition of excellence and sportsmanship that spans more than four decades.
For over 40 years, under the consistent and nationally awarded leadership of two head coaches, Fort Scott Community College Rodeo has had more than 2,000 student athletes participate in the program. While the names and faces have changed, the mission has stayed the same, uniting decades of teams under a common goal: to give student athletes an opportunity to take their next steps in life, school, and rodeo. While these efforts are not always easy to measure, our concepts have proven successful time and time again.
No other community college has ever won the Central Plains Region Men’s Team Championship. FSCC Rodeo has accomplished this feat 15 times in our storied history, including the last 3 years in a row (2022-2024). We have seen countless alumnus go on to compete at the highest levels of Professional Rodeo, including multiple qualifiers to the National Finals Rodeo.
