Fort Scott Community College’s Continuing Education program provides opportunities for personal growth, professional development, and lifelong learning. These non-credit courses are designed to help you gain new skills, explore interests, and connect with others in the community without the commitment of a traditional college program.

FSCC CE Trap Shooting Club

The FSCC Continuing Education Trap Shooting Club is a six-week course led by instructor Scott Shelton that welcomes both FSCC students and local residents; including beginners. The program emphasizes safe firearm handling, solid shooting fundamentals, and consistent technique while helping interested participants prepare for USA Clays League competition. Sessions are held at Lone Tree Gun Club in Elsmore, KS, where participants enjoy two trap rounds per week on a properly structured range. Safety is reinforced at every session through USA Clays League rules, completion of the USA Clays Safety Certification before live fire, strict muzzle awareness, and required eye and ear protection. Cost is $85 per participant, and an informational meeting will be held Monday, March 9, at 6 p.m. in the Ellis Family Fine Arts Center.
