Fort Scott, KS- Fort Scott Community College is pleased to announce that both the football program and the volleyball program have been nationally ranked in the pre-season.  The football program was listed #28 by JCGridiron.com.  The volleyball program was listed #20 by the NJCAA.

Coming off a 31-9 season, the FSCC volleyball team brings back seven sophomores including KJCCC freshman of the year, Julia Stringer.  The Greyhounds are expected to perform well throughout the season.  The NJCAA coaches’ poll included three other conference teams, Johnson County Community College, Kansas City Kansas Community College and #3 ranked Cowley County Community College.  Consequently, Fort Scott is predicted to finish fourth in the conference despite last year’s third place finish.

JCGridiron.com ranked the Greyhound football program #28 in the nation for a “ton of D1 talent.”  Several returning sophomores are already being scouted, including NJCAA rush and carry leader Devin Taylor.  The JCGridiron.com poll listed four schools on the Greyhounds fall schedule including #2 in the nation Hutchinson Community College.
The NJCAA conference prediction puts (last year’s 3-4 in conference play)Greyhounds near the bottom of the pack despite listing nine top returning sophomores.
