Fleming Inks with East Central University

Fort Scott Community College sophomore basketball player Jeremiah Fleming has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue playing basketball at East Central University in Ada, Okla. Fleming helped lead the Greyhounds to a Conference Championship—the second in three years—a first place finish in Region VI, and a number one seed in the regional tournament. He was named to the second team of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division II.

“I am so proud of Jeremiah. He is great example of what we look for in a student-athlete in our program. He worked hard over the off-season on his shooting and it has paid off,” said Michael Cook, FSCC Head Men’s Basketball Coach. “Watching Jeremiah grow on and off the court is what a coach enjoys more than anything. Seeing him excel—not only on the court, but in the classroom and as a leader—was tremendous joy for me. He has a bright future ahead of him and will do great things at East Central University.”

Fleming helped the Greyhounds earn their third home playoff game in the last 49 seasons. He made 10 three-point shots against Southwestern College, setting a record in Arnold Arena. He also scored 24 points in a win over Johnson County Community College, shooting 6-12 from the three-point line.

Fleming averaged 15 points per game, shooting 48% from the three point line on the year. He led the conference in three-point percentage and was fifth in scoring. He led the nation in three-point shots made, and ranked ninth in the nation in three-point percentage. Fleming finished his two years at FSCC ranking 19th on the all-time scoring list and a 22-14 (61.0%) record against non-Division I opponents.
