FSCC to host preview screening and discussion of documentary

Fort Scott Community College will host a preview screening of the PBS documentary, “The Great War,” and a panel discussion 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Monday, April 10 at the Danny & Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center, 2108 South Horton Street, Fort Scott. This event is free and open to the public.

According to PBS, the film “draws on the latest scholarship, including unpublished diaries, memoirs and letters to tell the rich and complex story of World War I through the voices of nurses, journalists, aviators, suffragists, soldiers, and others – the heroes and those whose participation in ‘the war for democracy’ has largely been forgotten.” The documentary will premiere April 10-12 on PBS, in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the United States’ entry into World War I on April 6, 1917.
