Greyhound’s Academic Awesomeness

February 5, 2019

Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds are full of academic awesomeness! Over 300 students made it on either the Honor Roll list (GPA 3.5-3.74), Vice President’s list (GPA 3.75-3.99), or President’s list (GPA 4.0+) for the fall 2018 semester! Athletics alone had an average GPA of nearly 3.0, with Volleyball leading the way with an average GPA of 3.8!

“Fort Scott Community College offers many resources for success such as tutoring, our instructors, great staff, and the list goes on and on. But we do not make it happen. It is the students who seek out the help, put in the time, and make the sacrifices to earn the grades. Kudos to every student who contributed to this great achievement”, Russ Souza, Director of Advising and Retention.

FSCC takes pride in student success! Just ask TRiO Director: Lori Cable

“TRiO works. TRiO works with and for the student. TRiO works with other departments to coordinate services. TRiO works with FSCC faculty to foster student success. As a program sponsored by the US Department of Education, the FSCC TRiO staff welcomes each and every student. Our dedicated tutors and program staff believe in our students – in their ability to overcome barriers, stay in school, graduate and transfer to 4-year institutions. By surrounding students with intensive support such as mentoring, advising, career development, enrichment opportunities and tutoring, we enable them to believe it too. As a result, when it comes to seeing academic gains, TRiO works!”-Lori Sherrell Cable
