FSCC Exit Exam
Fort Scott Community College requires an exit exam for all graduates to monitor and improve academic achievement. The WorkKeys assessment will be used for the exit exam. Students completing the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Applied Science, or a Certificate will complete the WorkKeys assessment. The Exit Exam must be taken one week prior to the end of each semester.
Exit Exams will be offered Friday afternoons in the MILL on main campus, at the Pittsburg Education Center in Crawford County, or at the Miami County campus in Paola. Please bring the following to the test: Photo identification such as a driver's license, state I.D., or FSCC Student I.D. The exam measures three skill areas. Each area is 55 minutes long and a student has to take all three tests to be eligible for graduation.
Students need to sign up for the exit exam in advance. Students who wish to take it in the MILL may call the main campus at (620) 223-2700 extension 4300. Students who wish to take it at the Pittsburg Education Center may call (620) 231-3690. Students who wish to take it at the Miami County campus may call (913) 294-4178. Students may also sign up for the exam in person at any campus.
After completing the WorkKeys assessment you will receive a WorkReady Certificate. The WorkReady Certificate is based on the nationally recognized certificate from ACT WorkKeys informing employers of your skills. The Certificate measures your skills in three areas – reading, locating information and mathematics – and certifies you as a Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze candidate.
