Mathematical Knowledge/ Analytical Thinking

Criteria – Area of Competence Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4
Mathematical concepts and procedures The student shows no understanding of a problem’s mathematical concepts and procedures. The student shows some understanding of a problem’s mathematical concepts and procedures. The student shows nearly complete understanding of a problem’s mathematical concepts and procedures. The student shows complete understanding of a problem’s mathematical concepts and procedures.
Computations There are errors with all of the computations. There are major errors in computations. There are minor/ infrequent errors in computations. There are no errors in computations.
Formula/ Algorithm The student never uses the correct/appropriate formula/algorithm. The student seldom uses the correct/appropriate formula/algorithm. The student frequently uses the correct/appropriate formula/algorithm with minor errors. The student always uses the correct/appropriate formula/algorithm with no errors.
Mathematical Language/Symbols The student uses no mathematical language/symbols correctly. The student uses some mathematical language/symbols correctly. The student uses most mathematical language/symbols correctly. The student uses all mathematical language/symbols correctly.
